FARM HISTORY
The original holding of “Glenbernie” was purchased by Edward Charles and Ellen Francis Fahey at the end of 1939. They eked out an existence cutting firewood, growing vegetables and keeping chooks The first fruit trees were planted in 1976 by Edward Jnr. as he felt there had to be a better way of making a living. Glenbernie Orchard is now a commercial orchard, ranking amongst the largest in the Sydney Basin and is still being operated by The Fahey Family.
FRUIT GROWN
We grow several varieties of Peaches Nectarines and Apples which are sold at the Sydney Fruit Markets as well in our retail shop. The new Persimmons which can eaten when they are sweet and hard are also grown here.
RETAIL SHOP
There is an on site shop which is open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The only days we are closed are Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday.
Here we sell seasonal fruit which you can “try before you buy” .Our fruit is renowned for its flavour and freshness. See Fruit Timetable for availability of produce.
We also sell several varieties of Pure Honey which you can taste. Some of this is from our own farm and some direct from a local beekeeper. Honey can also be tasted to make sure you get the flavour you prefer. Barley Malt is also sold here.
Our Pure Apple Juice, which is made from crushed fresh apples and not imported concentrate, does not contain any preservatives . You can really taste the difference. At times we supply the local makers of the apple juice, Cedar Creek Orchard, with our own apples for juicing.
We also make a variety of Jams and from our produce and these are supplemented with a large selection of the popular Beerenberg range. Our Tomato Relish, either Chilli or Plain is a big winner.
Apple Slinkies are also available at our Shop.

APPLES FOR SCHOOLS’ FUNDRAISING
During the year we sell 2kg Bags of “Kid Size Apples” to schools for fundraising purposes.
We also offer Honey, Apple Juice and Apple Slinkies at special wholesale prices.
Orders are delivered weekly to Wollongong, Sutherland Shire and Ingleburn areas.
